Virgin Dream was started in 2006 when Valtteri, ex-drummer Roope and former guitarist Jussi decided they wanted to play in a band. The band couldn’t find a bass player.
In early 2007 the band did a few gigs just to see if it was going to work. It did. It was just as well they did as Virgin Dream found their bass player after one of the gigs in Hämeenlinna.
Soon after this Jussi decided to leave the band. This made the situation much like it had always been: the band was short a player, but the band kept practising and immediately started advertising for a new guitarist.
In summer 2007 the band a recorded a home made demo. It wasn’t pretty, but it was something.
Later in -07 Teemu “Monski” Mononen joined the band as the new solo guitarist and it was a great boost to the band to finally have someone who could properly play.
In March 2008 the band went to the Sound Supreme studio with Janne Saksa and after that the first official studio demo ‘Part of Me’ was released during the spring 2008. The band made 200 of them and they sold out.
Later in 2008 Roope decided that he wanted to leave the band. Virgin Dream was looking for a new drummer for almost six months, and eventually…
Matti “Mäsä” Yli-Sarja joined the band in spring 2009 and the band is whole again.
